Adoption Bible Verses

Several days ago I posted at a Facebook group that I am part of asking for Bible Versus that have to do with adoption. Here are the versus that were shared with me.

I Samuel 1:27 I prayed for this child and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow.

And then there was this that was posted that I found helpful...

From the website: Why Rescue Orphans?

Because of the overwhelming need and because God directs us to do so in scripture:
There is no greater gift, one that goes 3 ways, than to adopt a child, with or without special needs. You honor God, you are bless
edd with an angel in your own life, and you change the course of a child's life forever. If you have any doubts about it, please read below:

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" Isaiah 43:5-6

"A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families. (Psalms 68:5-6)

"He defends the cause of the fatherless" (Deuteronomy 10:18)

"In you the fatherless find mercy." (Hosea 14:4)

"You are the helpers of the fatherless." (Psalm 10:14)

"It is not the will of your Father that one of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18:14)

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress." (James 1:27)

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (Luke 18:16)

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." (John 14:18)

"Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." (Matthew 18:5)

"And Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them." (Mark 10:16)

"Remember those…who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3)

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us…let us not love with word or tongue, but with action and in truth." (I John 3:16-18)

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." (Matthew 25:35)

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9)

"He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 22:16)

Estimated China Adoption Expenses

First I would like to thank all the people who helped me to gather this info for you especially Louise. Here is a link to her blog... www.adoptablewaitingchild.com.

The estimated adoption expenses for China are listed below:
~Application Fee = $250
~Agency Fees = $15,000
~Estimated Travel Fees = $8,000
~Home study =$2500
~Govt. fees/forms/fingerprints = $2000
~Estimated Adoption Donation = $5,700
~Total Estimated Fees = $33450
 And...
~Estimated post placement reports = $2400.00

The total cost is estimated to be somewhere between $28,000 and $35,000.

Additional info From Louise...

The biggest variable in the cost being higher is really two things.  1).  when you have approval to travel to your child/ren.  (Our fist adoption out Int'l flts costs were 981.00pp, our others were 2800.00pp - time of year is such a big factor and China also has a lot of holidays and tradeshows that can get the price up there too for in-country travel costs)  2).  the added amenities you choose for your adoption.  (we always use an additional service with our agency for dossier preparation which costs a little bit more, but works for us and our busy schedule).

She was also kind enough to send a spreadsheet about the requirements in China...

$682.20

$682.20 That is what Tallulah's fund is as of this post. I know the cost will be more then that and plan on doing a post about what the expenses can be expected to be. A friend who recently adopted from another country had costs of about 25,000 total. The goal of the Angel Tree is to raise just $1000 from November 1 to December 31. That would put her fund at $1682.20 but my personal goal is to have her fund be over $2,000 by the time the event ends. Will it be hard, yes, Is Tallulah worth it, yes!

I have signed up to be a Christmas Tree Warrior through Reece's Rainbow for Tallulah! She is such a little cutie and I pray her Mommy and Daddy will find her soon. It is funny I have never met her and have only ever saw one photo of her but I love her and promise to do my best to help her family find her. If you would like to read a little about Tallulah you can read her page at Reece's Rainbow at http://reecesrainbow.org/?s=Tallulah
